The American Red Cross is the nation's premier emergency response organization. Local chapters, such as the American Red Cross of Northeastern New York (ARCNNY), focus on providing emergency aid/relief in specific regions.We hope that you will be able to help us in helping the ARCNNY by participating in a raffle to raise funds to support their new and exciting "Save-the-Day" program. Through this program and your generosity we hope to provide direct relief to families and individuals affected by disasters in our part of New York.
Who are you and why should I buy raffle tickets from you (and trust you not to spend the proceeds on a fun weekend in Vegas)?We're a diverse group of people from across New York (I'm a public school teacher, another member is a cook, another is an IT Manager at an asset management company...you get the idea) who are interested in helping people and think that the Red Cross is a pretty great way to do it.
We're all members of Zombie Squad, an organization dedicated to helping people prepare for and recover from disasters, and are working to form a chapter of ZS in our region. One of the steps in forming a local chapter is organizing and running a charity event...this raffle is it, so thanks for helping our local Red Cross, people in need, and us in forming our ZS chapter.
The fund-raiser will take 2 forms:
- Straight donations (at the bottom of this page) if you just want to help those in need by giving money and/or don't want any of the items in the raffle
- Buying raffle tickets(in the middle of this page), each of which offer you the chance to help out people in need while possibly winning some of the cool donated prizes
Feel free to mix and match your giving between the raffle and donations...remember, it's all going to help people in need.
Single raffle e-tickets costs $5.00 (USD), 5 e-tickets cost $20.00, and 10 tickets cost $40.00.
At the end of the raffle, we will choose winners for each item from the raffle e-tickets at random, announce the winners, and donors will mail the items out to the winners.
If you provide us with a list of your preferred prizes in descending order (1st choice, 2nd choice, etc.), we will do the best that we can to match up winners with their prize choices (early winners being more likely to get their choices, of course).

Monday, September 15, 2008We will be donating all proceeds from this fund-raiser to the ARCNNY Save-the-Day program, and will post the final results within a week of the end-date. Every penny from your raffle ticket purchases and donations will go directly to the Red Cross, as we will be absorbing all of the PayPal costs ourselves.
Raffle
Please look at the items below, and then decide how many raffle e-tickets you wish to buy. Single raffle e-tickets costs $5.00 (USD), 5 e-tickets cost $20.00, and 25 tickets cost $80.00. At the end of the raffle, we will choose winners for each item from the raffle e-tickets at random, announce the winners, and donors will mail the items out to the winners.If you send include a list of your preferred raffle prizes, we will try to give you your top choice when we draw your raffle e-ticket (this can be done as an attached note in the PayPal stage of the game, or via an email to me)
We will be sending out a "thank you" gift, in the form of a mini survival kit, to the 5 people who purchase the most raffle tickets.
